Welcome back everyone to Tangee for your success and wealth. In the previous episode, I explained what success and wealth means, and I covered three sub-principles that are essential to understand before you begin your journey to self-betterment and financial enrichment. I also talked about the number one question that I get asked the most. The second most asked question that I get is if Tangie Weekly is a gimmick, a scam, or from money. Tanji Weekly is not only the official tanglement, it's also the first goal you will set up. And so you will hear me say this phrase frequently. I can certainly understand why somebody or someone would answer that. And the best way to alleviate these concerns is to be transparent and as clear as possible with a little suggestions, information, and experiences that I will give you. Trust builds loyalty, and loyalty builds a team of like-minded individuals. And this is what we are going to create here. I'm going to begin by expanding on the 10 G mindset by explaining to you in detail the three main keys that are absolutely the most important to understand and master and are the foundation of the entire 10 G Weekly Mindset. So, how did I narrow it down to the following three main keys that I call intelligent, focused, connected? It was a conclusion based on my dissection, if you will, of all the notebooks that I had accumulated over several years that were filled with notes and transcripts that I'd taken from conversations with business owners, real estate investors, and just people in general that were at their height of success and wealth, that I had been fortunate enough to meet and become friends with. People tend to open up when they consider you a friend, and that knowledge and experience that was coming to me was priceless. But I thought there had to be a simpler answer as to why they had reached their higher levels of achievement. And you know what? Sure enough, I began seeing a pattern when I started editing down all that information that I had gathered and they basically amalgamated down to these three keys. Even though none of those people knew each other and were absolutely isolated from each other, but they arrived at the same conclusion. It was the understanding that they had to apply these three keys that made up the winning formula to their lives, their careers and their business or businesses all the time, every time, for everything, in every way and every day. Because these three keys have what's called common utility. Money has common utility, and that's why it was invented and accepted worldwide. It's useful to everyone for a variety of reasons. Automobiles have common utility and that's why they're used worldwide. There's many other examples of things that still exist today long after they were invented, created, or discovered because of the common utility they have, and that in turn has given them longevity because of their usefulness. Smartphones are probably the items with the most common utility ever invented, and that's why they're such ubiquitous items worldwide. Rich to poor, young to old, everyone has one because they're so useful. The three keys are hidden gems that also have that common utility that only the successful and wealthy have discovered. But now you will know about them and how to use them. Intelligent, focused, connected. Again, these are the three keys. Three very powerful words that will change your life forever. I want you to write each one of these three words on a separate sticky note and place them on your bathroom mirror so you'll be able to see them every morning as you get ready for the start of your day. By seeing them on a daily basis, they will quickly become ingrained in your brain so that you can master them and the results will be astounding and immediate. And these three keys will allow you to close the gap between failure and becoming a very successful and wealthy person. These are the three very powerful keys that are the basis of Tanji and also of all the people that have achieved success and wealth in their lives. It's the first thing they think about when they wake up in the morning. So let's go through each key and I'll break each one down for you so that you can easily understand them and begin putting them into your life today to see immediate results. Not tomorrow, but today. Or better, right now. The intelligent key. To put it simply, know your craft is what this key denotes. But not only that, all successful and wealthy people have to read a lot, and most spend as much as half the day reading, and that is for many reasons, some of which are to stay informed in their trade or finances, and to keep up to date on the news regarding local, national, and world events because it also gives them the ability to hold a conversation when trying to connect with new people. Nothing is a bigger put-off than not having a clue what's going on around you, in your community, and the world. It shows that you're really self-centered and only concerned with the advancement of yourself, and more importantly, it sends the message that you're just not very intelligent. That makes it easier for them to make new friends and thus create new connections. This is how the connected principle is intertwined with the intelligent principle, that's also intertwined with the focus principle. How you speak matters, and the first impression that people have of you are always the ones that people remember the most. Let me give you a personal example of what I mean. I applied the three keys when I wanted to buy my first house, and I started by becoming intelligent about what it took to buy my first house. I would wake up early every Sunday morning and run to the store to get the Los Angeles Times newspaper. The real estate section of the Sunday edition would have a one-page column by real estate attorney and author Robert J. Bruce. It consisted of a topic on real estate investing and a question and answer section about everything else related to real estate. The information in that one page was gold, and it was an incredible source of knowledge for a first-time buyer like me that was ready to take the first step. I would read that one page over and over during the day to make sure I understood everything he was talking about. By doing this for over a year before I bought my first house, I was making myself intelligent about home buying, and that knowledge came in handy and would be tested very quickly soon after. Unfortunately, there's viruses and vampires in every profession, and real estate was no exception. The very first agent that I had the misfortune of meeting was a classic vampire. Are you sure you're ready to buy a house? Were the first words out of his mouth while he tilted his head and smirked? What he said next knocked me out. You're still young, you should be traveling and chasing girls, he said. How do you know I'm not doing that? I thought to myself. I should have said it out loud, but I was stunned at what he said. I felt like I was being rejected for membership into some exclusive club. I'm ready to buy, I'm pre-qualified, and I've saved up for a down payment, I told him. At that point, I should have just walked out of there, but I didn't, and it almost cost me the money I had scraped together for the down payment. As I would later find out, after I fired that agent, his intent was to steer me in every direction possible except the correct one. He was a late forty something year old man that had never been a homeowner because he partied it up in his twenties and thirties, was in severe debt and had blown his opportunity early on. He wasn't about to let me upstage him, but fortunately I was able to stop this toxic agent at every lie and deceit he threw at me. He wasn't going to suck the lifeblood out of my dream to buy a house. Eventually, I connected myself with an honest and hardworking agent that was really working for me and looking out for my best interest. She even told me that I was one of the most well-informed buyers that she'd ever worked with. She hooked me up with a pocket listing before it was put on the MLS. It was a fixer upper in a very nice neighborhood that I had grown up in. The price was perfect, and it became my first home purchase. I did everything to that house over the years that I owned it. I put a new roof on it, installed new windows, new copper water lines, new sewer lines, new floors, and painted the interior and exterior. Most of the work I did myself and some with the help of my friends. My first venture into buying real estate could have been a disaster, but thanks to Mr. Bruce's schooling, I made myself intelligent about it. I was able to double check everything, and that allowed me to make the correct decisions and made almost half a million dollars profit when I sold that house years later. Now, this is not a real estate course. I'm only giving you an example of how the intelligent key works and why it's so powerful in conjunction with the other two keys. This is where the having goals with deadline sub principle that I talked about in the previous episode comes into play by becoming a pillar for all three keys. My focus at that time was to become a homeowner, and I didn't let anything or anyone get in my way of achieving that goal, and my deadline was to do so before I turned 25. I remember my parents always telling me when I was a teenager that one of the first goals I should accomplish was to buy my first house as soon as I turned 20 and complete that goal in my early 20s because after that it would be harder because as you go into your 30s, you'd probably had some student debt, credit card debt, maybe gotten married and had kids already, and so on. And then homeownership starts to get less attainable. But let's back up a bit. How did I buy my first house? Being single and only 25 years old. In retrospect, at that time, I didn't know it then, but I had applied the three keys of being intelligent, focused, and connected towards achieving my goal of being a homeowner. And the deadline was to do it on or before I turned 25. I became intelligent about how to become a homeowner by reading all those real estate articles. I stayed focused on buying my first home even though there were a lot of distractions to the contrary around me, and I connected myself to another real estate agent that was really working with me and for me. The focused key. The focused key is like a finely tuned engine that keeps you moving forward at a steady speed towards success and wealth. Keeping at it and not wavering are what the focused key is all about. Persistence, hard work, effort, drive, determination, concentration, motivation, engaged, interested, intrigued, involved, hypnotized, mesmerized, and so forth are some of the words we hear most people say that you must understand. I believe that all of these words are under the aegis of focused, because I've concluded that focus is more to the point and it makes it clearer and sharper, and it encompasses all the other words that mean the same. Let's also understand that whatever you focus on you will master and achieve. And this also includes failure, negativity, and complacency. So let's be careful here because you have to clear your mind of any doubt you might have before you begin to master and implement this key. Your mind gets easily corrupted when you're not focused. And one of the effects is to cause you to fail at meeting your goals on or before the deadlines. When doubt, insecurity, and confusion settle into your mindset, you become vulnerable and an easy target for con artists that are always lurking nearby you. In the example I talked about previously regarding buying my first house, I could have easily gotten discouraged by my first encounter in the home buying process by that toxic agent that was a true vampire. But I kept my eyes on the prize and stayed focused on my end game, which was to buy my first home. That agent's only purpose was to kill my goal of becoming a successful first-time buyer. And why was that? I thought for a long time, why would that real estate agent not help me? Then the answer came to me like an epiphany. My knowledge and enthusiasm for buying my first home while in my early 20s really made him uncomfortable with his failure at home ownership and maybe his life. I was a reminder to him what he hadn't done. When you've mastered the focused key, nothing or nobody can stop you from being successful and wealthy because when you can stay focused on a task, you are more likely to complete it with much greater effectiveness, and you'll be able to finish tasks at a faster pace that can in turn motivate you to get onto the next task. When you're confident that you're very capable of getting things done, that will help you stay positive, motivated, and inspired to achieve your next goal within the deadlines you set. By mastering the focus key, your problem solving and decision making will be sharper and more precise. Acting out compulsively and jumping from project to project without completing or monetizing any of them is what mastering the focus key avoids. However, let's understand that having multiple sources of income does not conflict with the focus key, as I'll explain in detail in the upcoming episode regarding multiple sources of income and why it's important to set up a system that keeps feeding your bank account from several sources, because if one thing fails, you have other funds still coming to you and your lifestyle is never compromised. The connected key. Of the three keys, this can be the most challenging to attain, but not impossible because it relies upon your abilities to make friends with strangers. If you're a shy person, you will have to overcome it. You'll have to cultivate a personality that people will enjoy meeting and being around with. No matter what you call it, networking, rubbing elbows with, gum shoeing it, communicating with, conversing with, making small talk, meeting people, and so on, the end result is to get yourself directly connected to the VIPs in the industry, profession, or craft you are trying to succeed in. It has to be without any degree of separation. Basically, a true connection is one that you can call at any time and they call you back. You have each other's phone numbers. Not my friend is a waiter at a restaurant where Mr. Big Shot eats. That doesn't mean anything and is not a connection. Try pitching yourself or your idea to Mr. Big Shot who doesn't know you and doesn't care about you while he is trying to eat. The result will be a total failure. Let me make something else very clear. Being connected to wealthy and successful people is not so that you can borrow money from them to fund your venture. I'm gonna say that again. It's not so that you can borrow money from them. It's about seeing firsthand how they operate and succeed, because habits are contagious and because, as the old adage says, you will always be the average of five of your friends. That's why it's essential to make friendships with successful and wealthy people so that you can become the average of them. Doors and opportunities will open up for you. The only key that can pick open any lock to any door is the connected key. Once you make those types of friendships, you must guard them with your life. So the best time to make connections is when you don't need them. That's because you'll be more relaxed, you won't have that nervous tone in your voice, and you won't have that sense of urgency in your face. You'll make the people you're trying to connect with feel more comfortable simply because you're feeling comfortable. Successful and wealthy people are always on the guard and on the lookout for disingenuous friendships who they let into their inner circle because they have a lot to protect and a lot to lose. Although all three keys are equally important, the connected key is based on having a high trustability factor as you try to connect to the 1% that I mentioned in the previous episode. Because those 1% that make up the truly successful and wealthy people always have their bullshit detector turned on and fully charged. They're always on the lookout for the next scam artist that is trying to get into their inner circle. In this episode, we cover the absolute importance of knowing and understanding the three most essential and vital keys to master first before you begin your journey. All three main keys intelligent, focused, connected, are linked, inseparable, and all three must be firing at the same time because if you miss any one of them, the other two disappear. It's vital to have all three keys going on at one time. One or two of the keys cannot coexist without the other. They must be going at the same time and converge at a point to create a unified focused laser beam towards your goals with deadlines. In the next episode, I will go over with you the three types of people you have to stay away from that I call a virus, a vampire, and an anchor. In conjunction with the implementation of the three keys we covered in this episode, I'll explain to you in detail how to identify them and why it's absolutely critical that you remove them from your inner circle.
